New website for international students

A new site has been launched by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). www.study-in.de is intended to help guide international students with information about academic programs, research opportunities and living in Germany.

study-in.de is designed as a modern, user-friendly portal with a vast amount of information in German and English. The interactive Germany map lets students virtually “travel” to a city like Berlin, where they can locate for instance a Masters program most suited to their interests. They can also read the DAAD-Blog written by other foreign students’ experiences in Germany.

Ten video clips of the project “Student Life” will answer the most common questions related to living and studying in Germany. The videos were made together with a media team at the Hochschule Mittweida and have been placed on both study-in.de and YouTube. There is also up-to-date information about upcoming career fairs both in Germany and abroad. In addition to basic information about study-related issues, Study-in.de features a look at life in Germany and gives impressions of the country. To ease the start of foreign students, DAAD has also established its own profile in Germany’s largest social network “StudiVZ”. There students can make contacts with other students in Germany before they leave their home countries.

Study-in.de is supported by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) and cooperates with the German Rector’s Conference (HRK).
